iPad mini (A17 Pro)

I still have my 2021 M1 iPad Pro 12.9" and have no desire to upgrade yet. The M silicon is truly a work of marvel from Apple and have only had a previous iPad Mini 5 for 4.5 years, when I upgraded to the iPad Mini 7 (and that one was noticeably slower after all those years: A12 to A17 Pro)

My guess is it’s like the iPad mini and Air where they’re stopping referring to it externally as a new generation, more based on their processor like they do for Mac’s. Especially because this gen the Airs and Base levels seem EXACTLY the same save for a processor bump, they’re just gonna call it iP

I think the big thing you wanna think about is longevity, better chip will get you more years out of it. A16 is an aging chip and doesn’t even support Apple Intelligence. A mini could be fine if you can find one at a decent price, but I wouldn’t do anything other than the A17 Pro. Hell even an M1 iP

iPads with A17 Pro and above with ported AAA titles are quite capable for gaming too now. If you are also concerned with longevity there's nothing better than Mini
