Is the 5th Gen iPad Air (M1) still powerful enough today? Yes it is I found a used 64GB iPad Air 5 (M1) for the same price as a brand-new, sealed 128GB iPad 11 (A16). Do you think it's worth the trade-off? Do not get a 64 GB iPad in 2026

The M1 iPad is obviously more powerful than the a16 iPad. However if you’re buying 2nd hand, the battery health might not be in the best condition. And you’ll have to make sure you buy the 256gb iPad, because 64gb won’t be enough. If you find one in good condition for a good price, go for it. The a1

I’m having absolutely no issues on my M1 iPad Air. Although i do have less storage at 64GB so maybe it’s somehow related that the amount of apps you have affects it?

Honestly, get any iPad with an M chip in it. The general consensus seems to be that iPadOS isn’t even really capable of using the full power of it, and I’ve found that to be true. My iPad Air 5 with the M1 has never shown any signs of slowing down and I am consistently multitasking. My recommendatio

Of course the new iPad Air with the M4 will work better and be faster than the 5th gen Air M1. And it will have a lot longer lifespan. More powerful processor and 50% boost in RAM is why How much would you get for your 5th gen if you sold it on eBay? How much does a battery replacement cost? How man

For digital art, the iPad Air line with the Apple Pencil 2nd Gen will be better than the USB-C Pencil, because it has pressure sensitivity. However, you said you could get an adapter for your current pencil… does that mean you have the 1st generation Lightning pencil with pressure sensitivity? If so

Yes absolutely! The M1 iPads are still incredibly capable, you should be good for at least 3-4 years. I recommend however getting at least a higher storage of 256GB to future proof it, 64GB for the iPad Air 5 is limiting.

You need proper tool, don’t make the error: I am a beginner, I don’t need good stuff (if you can afford), because as soon you will get good, you will need the good tools to work on your project, and you will end up needing to buy need stuff. I have started for uni a month ago, I had previously an iP

I’d go for the iPad Air 13” M3 256GB WiFi + Cellular ($750). It’s the newest/most future-proof with M3 chip, great for school apps, note-taking (full Apple Pencil Pro support), and multitasking with your 70GB+ stuff. Bigger screen than your current Air 5, 256GB solves storage, cellular adds flexibil

There’s certified refurbished iPads on the apple website. Any of them would honestly do you good but if it’s quality you want I’d look for anything above the M1. In my opinion the iPad Air 5th gen is the best and since it’s older it’s significantly cheaper. Just make sure you get enough storage. Lea
