This is diabolical for 128 GB iPad
I have the same problem with my M1 iPad Air 64gb and that’s not a cheap or old device. Needed to delete almost everything just to install ios26 because it needs space for the old and the new OS at the same time (18+24gb =42 GB out of the 55 usable on the iPad)

The state of a 64GB iPad Air M1
OP says it's an M1 iPad Air which was released in 2022. I was surprised they released a 64GB model (I had to google it to check). It was kind of an asshole move of Apple to be selling 64GB iPads so recently. Especially when the M chips came to iPads and they were boasting about how powerful they wer

is the ipad air 4 still a good option?
I have a iPad air 5 with the M1 , 64 GB , it doesn’t have enough storage to run Apple Intelligence, any update you need to delete some apps to be able to download it , if you are not planning to use ICloud Photos forget a 64 GB . Does minor task but it is starting to show it is old, Procreate runs b

Air M1 upgrade to Air M4 isn't worth it.
The iPad still cannot be used as a productivity device for me personally. Very limited Office package, as in no full Word, Excel, PowerPoint,… And for video editing, I have a powerful computer at home, which is definitely faster and easier to use. My iPad Air M1 was mostly for media consumption, gam

Gen 2 pencil compatibility....
Yes, that’s why I say my 64 gb iPad Air M1 cost $1000. I bought it with a Smart Keyboard Folio and pencil 2 which are essentially part of the iPad now.

Weekly 'What should I buy?' Thread
Hi everyone! I want to buy a tablet for digital drawing but I can't decide. I am mostly traditional, previously did a bit of digital art using Krita on my pc. I'm trying to decide between a Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra 12/512 GB and 13-inch iPad Air Wi‑Fi 512GB with Apple Pencil Pro. What’s making t

Trying to update my 64GB iPad Air M1, and surprise it's out of storage and won't let me update. The only app taking any significant storage is photos, and it reported ~6.3GB. Fine, I turn off iCloud syncing for photos and I'm asked if I want to remove the data on my iPad, yes. Well, now my Photos da

Advice to Juniors : Always keep 'Storage' as your first priority if you're planning to buy an iPad / Tab
Yup. Struggling with storage aa I chose the M1 iPad Air 64gb version back in 2022. Currently preparing using digital notes. Can second this. Should've bought the base iPad with 256gb of storage rather.
