I don't get it. I have an iPad Air 4 (A14) and it seems I'm getting updated to 26, but the M1 won't?

I would love to run macOS on my iPad. I ended up switching my iPad Pro M2 for my daughter's iPad Air M1, because I never use it, and she does. Given the choice, I use the Mac every time. It can do more, do more at the same time, has a larger screen, and is overall more robust.
