Ipad Air 5 with M1 has been so great me with all this time since i got as gift it in September 2022
As long as you take care of the device, those M1 devices are something else. My iPad and MacBook Air (both M1) still function amazingly well and the battery life isn’t bad at all.

Help deciding which iPad to buy
I’d go for the iPad Air 13” M3 256GB WiFi + Cellular ($750). It’s the newest/most future-proof with M3 chip, great for school apps, note-taking (full Apple Pencil Pro support), and multitasking with your 70GB+ stuff. Bigger screen than your current Air 5, 256GB solves storage, cellular adds flexibil

New iPad Air 5th gen M1
That's a solid deal. I had the same model and the M1 is pretty fast with plenty of memory for multitasking. The major downside of this model is the cheap non-OLED display but honestly at that price who cares. It's still a fairly bright 500 nits panel with good colors although black will be more grey

Ipad air 5 battery problem
How high is brightness? Note taking with the Apple Pencil is rather heavy, 10% per hour depending on brightness isn’t too bad. My Air 5 is on iPadOS 15 (which is better than yours, presumably on 26), and I’m getting about 6 hours to 60% from 100% with 30-40% brightness. About maybe 13 hours 100-0%,

Portable ir hybrid tablet suggestions?
This does not have a good battery life, and is not as portable as you think. That being said, if you keep this plugged in wherever you use it, it's a full-blown Windows PC workhorse with a decent pen for artwork. Personally, I've have a Surface Pro 11, with recent adreno gpu drivers for Snapdragon X

I'm buying a new iPad since my old iPad 7's Motherboard Failed after a good 6 years. What to pick?
honestly for longevity the Air 5 is your move. i ran into this same thing last year and the M1 chip still crushes games and editing without breaking a sweat. the battery thing is real but you can grab a mophie power bank for when it drops below 80. the iPad 11 feels newer but that 6GB ram will age f

Weekly 'What should I buy?' Thread
The 11th gen iPad (A16)received a refresh last year and is priced at $349. It should continue receiving software updates until around 2031 or 2032. If you don’t care as much about long term Apple support, the iPad Air 5th generation is still a great option. It offers strong performance with the M1 c

iPad Megathread
Hi everyone, I know there are so many posts on these topics and I've done a lot of research, but I'd be grateful for your opinions to help me decide which model is best to buy as my first iPad. I often see comparisons between the A16 and Air 5 M3, but rarely between the A16 and older Air models. Fac

Ipad air 5 or Ipad 11th gen (cons)
I had a M1 Air and never had an issue with the screen. The battery is not stellar but never was troublesome for me. For your usage the base iPad can be enough, I was doing your workflow with a 2018 base iPad and that thing had an A10 and 2gb ram.
