AirPods Pro 3

Had a flight last week and this happened to me with my AirPods Pro 3. The whine in the left AirPod was horrendous and no amount of adjustment would help, so I had to stop using them. Tried again about an hour later while still in the air and it didn’t do it again. Perhaps the altitude was lower late

IOS 26 is made for those who absolutely need to get excited over changes every year and being on a whole new level. The rest of us would have been more "exited" over an "all bugs fixed" update to IOS 18. I had to upgrade because it turned out that AirPods Pro 3 cannot be used as hearing aids with IO

Edit 21/9 : I feel like I might be getting used to the white noise. It’s not perfect, but I do really like the noise cancelling of the APP3.

Got my APP3 today, I notice while in noise cancelling I’m getting like an ocean or static noise with no media playing. It’s not loud, but noticeable

I love wasting money on B&O stuff, but really struggling to justify getting these when AirPods Pro 3 will clearly suffice for 21.9% of the price. Also haunted by some E8s I once had which regularly disconnected and/or would keep playing music after being put back in the case.

With the new Apple designed Wi-Fi + Bluetooth chip going into the iPhone 17 lineup, if the APP3 can’t stream Lossless (not even saying Hi-Res Lossless) I don’t think there’s a big enough jump from APP2 to justify shelling out $250

So, everyone on the internet and in all the reviews talks about how amazing the AirPods Pro 3 are — the excellent noise cancellation, the crystal-clear sound, the seamless Apple experience, and all that. But no one really talks about the practicality of using them day to day.

Apple Lossless isn’t supported on either of those headphones. AirPods Pro 3 use BT which, at best, is AAC 256k. That’s the same as the High Quality setting in Apple Music. Sony XM6? It’s still ridiculous. My AirPods Pro 2 worked flawlessly. AirPods Pro 3? Have to turn Bluetooth off/on quite regularly. Only happens on my 17.
