I thought the issue was that the chips need to be within inches of one another, which was why it only worked with vision, and why there was an another quiet revision after they added usb c. With the new Apple designed Wi-Fi + Bluetooth chip going into the iPhone 17 lineup, if the APP3 can’t stream Lossless (not even saying Hi-Res Lossless) I don’t think there’s a big enough jump from APP2 to justify shelling out $250

Why update when they are selling a 3+ year old device with no problems? Same reason they didn’t bother creating a new chip or using a new chip for the new AirPods Pro 2
