Playing Paradox games with a good CPU is a completely different experience

I have always hated the end game in almost every Paradox game, but especially HoI4 and Victoria 3 as they start running unbearably slow. I guess its the increase in units in HoI4 and pop groups in Vic3 that is the cause of this. Its a bit the same with Stellaris and xeno-compatibility and large maps

Looking to build or buy a budget/mid-range PC for 1080p gaming + streaming. Don't care about 4K or 500 fps, just want decent performance.

Nowadays, $1000 is not much. This is an AM4 system, so it cannot be easily upgraded in the future. The 5600XT usually is cheaper than the 5600X, but is out of stock right now. If that $7 is too much, consider the 5600. For $20 more, you could get a 5060 Ti. PCPartPicker Part List Type Item Price CPU

AMD Ryzen 5600x and fTPM (firmware-based Trusted Platform Module)

I was researching the AMD Ryzen 5600x closely, and there's a lot of mixed info. I'm putting this misinformation to an end: the AMD Ryzen 5600x supports fTPM (firmware-based Trusted Platform Module) (TPM 2.0).

I have it mounted in a MSI MAG B550I ITX Motherboard. It seems with this, as other mobos,

I’m looking for a budget pc, gaming/ work / studies i’m looking to pay 1200-1300 cad$ .

That "Stoneforged Lance" is quite good for the price; you would not be able to get the components alone this cheap. But do you actually want to pay for the stronger CPU that you might not acutally need? If you want to build yourself: PCPartPicker Part List Type Item Price CPU AMD Ryzen 5 5600X 3.7 G

Need Help from all you build experts

A 5070 in a $3500 build (don't forget sales tax) is a literal crime against humanity. You don't need 64GB RAM. You really don't need a 9800X3D for a midrange gaming PC, That DDR5 won't perform any better than some good DDR4. You don't need an AIO for ANY AMD CPU, especially not a Ryzen 7. Your MB ch

Need advice on graphics card

Your first problem is the CPU not the GPU, that's why you saw no improvement on low. Luckily the person who build that PC in 2017 got you on AM4 which means you can have an insane boost in performance for just over $100 by updating the bios and getting a 5600 or 5600X. They also got you a high quali

My set up, each os for a different use. Game development

Hello, so I’ve been on and off about linux for a while, finally learned the nuts and bolts on how to manage an operating system and such. I don’t want to get win 11 but it seems like I’m going to have to keep win 10 if I want to get into game development, so I’m thinking that I have three drives, on

Selling Productivity + Gaming PC | i5 13400f | 32GB RAM | RTX 3060 | 1.75 TB

Because of Idiots like you, Nvidia is still making 8GB VRAM cards in 2026, and they are still getting sold. FYI, the RTX 3070 (2020 or 2021), which is almost 6 to 7 years old, trades blows with the RTX 5060 (2025) in gaming. And the RTX 5060 can't even run newer games like FH6, which is not that hea
