I’m using Alen 45i and 35i in our home and they work great. we have 2 cats and these machines remove any pet and cooking odors. filter needs to be replaced once a year. Having an app makes it handy to check or change settings as needed, also has a schedule option. good machines for the money.

I think they mean an electronic filter added to your HVAC system that cleans air going thru it. It has a light source that cleans the air. Periodically have to get a new light bulb replacement.
