Yes, the audeze are wonderful, I am using them almost daily and they have a good balance between „boom“ and clarity imho (had the akg 701 first, which might be a great utility but it made no fun using them haha). True, a/d/s isn't in the league with the rest. Top Focal and several levels of Marten are, and even Magnepan's top offerings. Also love electrostatic headphones. Enjoyed Stax SR-44 for years in the 70s and early 80s, but that model is equaled or bested by AKG 701 (and it's not electrostatic).

This is true in my experience. It explains why my AKG 701 easily out performed my Stax SR-44 electro stats. (And both beat my Sennheiser 660, apple earbuds, and a bunch of other earbuds I have. Just DYI.)
