Need Help Staying Safe with Long Flight and Chronic Illness
I’m also an immunocompromised person with lupus and RA. I fly internationally and wear a 3M Aura or Zimi mask throughout. I have a SIP valve and stay hydrated. protein powder mixes are a thought if you like them. I eat protein bars on layovers in a deserted part of the airport, by lifting my mask, t

I’ve gotten covid 9 times
9 times????!!!!!!!!! Please please please invest in N95 masks and air purifiers. There’s an air purifier you can take on the go with you, the AirFanta 4Lite. I use it at work as an extra precaution in addition to my office air purifiers. I’m so sorry you haven’t been educated until now as to how you

Flying while immunocompromised - how to best protect myself?
I totally agree with you in the case of undersized traditional air purifiers, but I think that laminar flow personal air purifiers (e.g. AirFanta 4Lite or AirFanta Mini) can be helpful if used correctly.

Fan and not purifier for desk in a cubicle in a relatively small, crowded open floor?
Assuming you’re already masking with a well fitted (ideally fit tested) respirator, the thing you’re looking for is an air filter with laminar flow. Fans and typical air filters are turbulent, which causes other, non purified air to be swept up in the current and can push contaminated air in your fa

AirTamer 320 - any good?
No, personal air purifiers are generally not a thing. The main issue lies in the turbulent flow coming from the device, which means that the contaminated room air immediately mixes back in to the stream well within your breathing zone. The only exception is devices that have a laminar flow, like the

Air filters for train?
If you’re sitting in coach and not in a private sleeper room, I recommend a laminar air purifier like the AirFanta 4Lite. It doesn’t clean the air in the entire room, but it delivers a stream of filtered air directly in front of the unit. If you position your face directly in front of it (recommende

all the preventative tech?
I like them a lot! I have the AirFanta 4Lite and to me the logic is that it is asking a lot for a little air purifier to tackle entire rooms filled with people, but what really matters is the air that you are taking in, so if I can put less pressure on my n95 in a high-risk environment by making sur

Paxlovid reaction
Why do you remove your mask at the nursing station? If you want to eat inside, I suggest the AirFanta 4Lite. It's a personal air purifier and it blows a stream of clean air. Eat within 12 inches of the stream and it reduces your risk of inhaling COVID.

Long haul flight advice
The AirFanta 4Lite, or another “laminar” flow filter, can reduce risk if your run it on the low setting within a foot of your face. It creates a stream of fully purified air, unlike non-laminar mini purifiers. I’m seconding the other poster’s recommendation to install SIP valves and drink some sort
