A Focusrite isn't an amplifier as such. It's a digital audio interface. It converts analog audio to digital and vice versa for computer audio recording and playback. It can be used as a headphone amp but that's not its primary purpose. I would recommend getting him a pair of studio monitor speakers

My nephew wants dj set up for christmas
If you want something that’ll be a great value, I recommend starting with a Numark mixtrack pro controller, and a set of Mackie CR3.5 speakers. The controller comes with a free (lite) version of Serato software. The laptop you might be able to get a better value used but ultimately you want somethin

Recommendation: Smallest, least expensive audio device/amp to do a synthesizer justice.
Gotchya! So I think that’s a tough price point. If I were in your position I would highly consider a cheap pair of monitors under your budget or save more money up. For cheaper I like the mackie cr3.5 ($100) or cr4.5 ($130) — personally I’d stay away from the presonus ones in that price range, based

Which one?
Idk about audio array! Had their audio interface before was trash, so avoid. Get mackie cr3.5 3rd gen if you can stretch 1k more or for less hayden. I use presonus eris 3.5 as my pc speakers, while they are not great for studio work, they are very good pc speakers. I would avoid audio array tbh.

Inexpensive amp for microkorg
Mackie CR3.5 - a pair for under $100 would serve you well. Or the Presonus monitors others mentioned 👍

What speaker to buy for at home practising?
Normally I wouldn't recommend studio monitors—except in this situation where you are specifically trying to play "quietly." Part of the main problem is you won't get much sub bass which is really key for club DJs to not only get used to but to literally play into the bass. For most beginner DJs I re

Bookshelf Speakers vs Monitors
I picked up mackies cr3.5 for £100. Pack a punch when needed, can flip a switch for desktop or bookshelf.

Am I getting scammed on fb marketplace?
Yeah, and if this is near OP’s budget, they could have a brand new pair of Mackie CR3.5BT for that same $120, with a proper box and a warranty to boot. The Mackies are in good company at this price point with the PreSonus Eris 3.5BT too, but a particularly good value at the moment is the Monoprice DT

Scarlet 4th gen output
https://mackie.com/en/products/desktop-speakers/cr-series/cr35.html I just got the 4.5" version of these for my setup to be used with the 4th gen solo. Just waiting on the TRS cables. But from some limited testing with the cables that came with the Solo does produce a more clean and powered sound
