Speakers that produce room filing sound that is enjoyable even off-axis
Plus 1 for KEF. Was facing a similar situation and got a pair of KEF Q3 meta’s and RSL speedwoofer 10e powered by a Denon 760 off the TV. We have an open floor plan where the kitchen, dining room, and living room all flow together and we listen to music while cooking and eating and it sounds really

KEF Q3 or KEF Q350 in bookcase
Both models are very similar but unless the price difference is large go with the Q3 Meta because it is the newer model and has a bit more refined sound, particularly in the upper frequencies. Generally speaking, putting ANY speaker in a bookcase is a bad idea. That said KEFs seem to do better than

Q1 Meta
Depends on budget. For lower budget, get two more pairs of Q1 Metas and use two for rear surround and one for a center channel. Next step up would be to get a pair of Q3 Metas for front left and right, a Q6 Meta for the center, and put the Q1s as surround. Next step from there would be to get 3 Q6 M

KEF Q150 + Marantz PM6007 vs KEF LSX ii
I think the primary benefit you would appreciate with that switch would be the improvement in volume within a relatively large space. the LSX II are a great-sounding speaker for near field, but you are probably pushing them hard in a room that size. the flipside is that I think the LSX II has somewh

Kef LSX II LT or Coda W
Not sure about discontinued, but i've seen a shift away from selling them via audiophile channels to mass sales via costco. whereas the LSX II are still selling at high cost audio-oriented sites, at 3x the price of the 'LT' version. I agree with you that the Coda have larger drivers, a larger cabine

Q3 vs Concerto
Look at the estimated in-room response of your Q3 Metas (courtesy of EAC). You will see them roll off smoothly from ~100 to 60Hz, with a shelf from ~60 to 45Hz, then a knee, and a steep drop-off below that. This kind of bass tuning allows the speakers to be placed closer to the wall, where the bound

Buying Advice: Q1 Meta and Q3 Meta
Indeed...there seems to be some dip in the 700Hz to 1kHz region in the Q3 Meta for the on-axis response too. I guess the Q3 might sound a bit more darker than Q1 in that range. Some people might like it. Some people might not. https://www.spinorama.org/compare.html?speaker0=KEF+Q1+Meta&origin0=Vendo
