Roborock surprisingly didn’t do well in VacuumWars best vac/mop awards

In a more standardized test using lab-certified dust done by a German-based YouTube channel, Roborock's flagship has the weakest vacuuming power of embedded sand on carpet compared to Dreame, Roomba S9+, Dyson vis nav, and even Electrolux's first robot vacuum from the '90s. This is due to ineffectiv

is this a good find?

S9+ It came out in 2019 and is arguably the BEST roomba for straight cleaning performance especially carpet due to its large front rollers and non restrictive rear air exhaust. It still ranks on the top for robot vacuums based on cleaning performance especially on carpet It lacks obstacle avoidance

Three weeks in and I'm convinced this is a robot first, fantastic vacuum second

I’m with you. My wife and I listened to the Version History episode about the Roomba and they talked about how that first version wasn’t great, but people had emotional attachments to it. They lamented that nobody feels that way about robovacs anymore, which I agreed with until I purchased our Matic

CarefulDrive Question

All of the below is speculation. Why it's not available on all front-camera-based models (i.e. j5, j6, j7 too): probably just a matter of feature segmentation, just like how the PrecisionVision obstacles detection is only enabled to detect "pet waste" and wires/cables on the j6 series (it won't avoi

Robot vacuum or mop?

I'd be more concerned about it smearing around cecotropes. But with that said, I have a Roomba S9+ and it still gets clogged from just vacuuming my kitchen. I'd save the money.

Flow 2 is great

My sentiments exactly. coming from an S9+ roomba. It was/is credible but the flow 2 is impressing me.Hope they up their game on the app soon. Map editing/tweaking is a PITA IMHO

Favorite model in terms of power

The roomba s9+ is the most powerful roomba The 2nd most powerful is the 980. Because both have exhaust fans on the rear of the unit, not downwards and could be obstructed by carpet like the i and j models, the s9 and 980 can provide consistent extreme suction on carpets.

Model?

S9+. The best and worst Roomba I’ve ever had. It red ringed four times due to “internal communication error” so I make iRobot take it back. I have a cheaper one now that gives me no problems. If this is cheap, go for it! If they fixed the problems with the software and it doesn’t red ringed on you,

Teachers of Reddit, what are your most terrifying "Gen Alpha Can't Read/Behave/Etc." horror stories?

I'm GenX. I just bought a Roomba S9+ for super cheap at a thrift store. Took it home, and it worked pretty well, but it kept stopping with an error code that it was near an edge - there was no edge. After a bunch of rebooting and easy troubleshooting, it still had the same issue. More reading led me
