WARNING: Do NOT Buy Onyx BOOX. $500 Note Air5 C turned into a DEAD BRICK in less than a month, and support has completely GHOSTED me.
Over the years, I have owned and used: Note 5 Note Air 3C Tab X Go 10.3 Note Max Note Air 5C Go 7 Palma Pro 2 Go 10.3 II Lumi All worked flawlessly with zero issues. That being said, I buy them on Amazon, not from Boox directly, so I can easily return them if I need to.

BOOX Official Shop Return Horror
Thanks folks for your suggestions. I just initiated the chargeback at my debit card company. Note Max was really impressive for me, and I know small and medium enterprises like BOOX are dealing with all sorts of challenges, so I don't want to be too harsh on them. It's just that the service quality

Help please! Note Max - Writing Delay
Yes this is completely normal. Just the nature of the technology. Some devices from other OEMs have less latency and you would not see that. For the Note Max and probably Boox in general, normal.

Best e-ink tablet for heavy book PDF reading in a PhD?
- PDF handling — clean rendering, easy navigation, no fighting the device Boox and NeoReader is going to be best at this, e.g. it's very good at reflowing PDFs. 3. Annotation and highlighting — needs to work smoothly, and I would like to get highlights/notes out in a usable format. same for this. 4. Z

Buying BOOX Note Max in 2026?
Favourite of my BOOX devices. IMO, Voya blew things way out of proportion with his ranting and then others blew that out of propotion. 4.1 didn't bother me much and I'm fine with 4.2.. Ghosting for me has been a minor anooyance, mainly because at that price, a full regal refresh should be clean, but

Why BOOX?
BOOX devices are quirky about locations of charging ports and folks tend to hate them. I regularly use my devices flat on my desk and all of my charging cables slide out from the back of my desk, so I like charging ports on top or on the side (I may be one of two people who publicly admit liking the

It's time to check the competition
I'm not quite at the point of leaving RM altogether, but I will agree that colored e-ink just doesn't seem like it's a very reliable point in its development. Having both the RM2 and RMPP (and using both regularly), it definitely seems like monochrome e-ink is the more robust of the two. Makes me wi

StarNote app is by Onyx international ie related to Boox!?!
So I gave it a few minutes' test drive, and found a few things. Nothing that can't be debugged and cleaned up, if the Devs really wanted to. It's not ready for a public announcement that "It's compatible, hooray!" yet, but it's better than anything we've ever had. Notebooks created in Notes, exporte
