I’m pretty happy with my Bonavita. You want to get the Enthusiast model with the insulated carafe and filter holder that slides in to the brewer.

I have the same, solid brewer. I have a Moccamaster at work and it's an upgrade over the enthusiast, but the Bonavita was a bargain, bought when Kohls stocked them a few years ago and it's been problem free.

I've got an Aiden, which makes delicious coffee. I only use the medium roast built-in profile. I find the day-to-day usage somewhat glitchy. It sometimes thinks it needs water, when it already has plenty - I do not know if you would be able to detect the 'add water' alert without being able to see t

I just purchased a Bonavita Enthusiast 8 cup for $150 off of Amazon. I know your question is the best, but this is a great machine for the money.

2nd vote for the enthusiast. I toyed with something more expensive but decided to go with the Bonavita and its been a great choice so far. No frills, removable tank, and simply makes a good cup meeting the sca certification.

IMHO, a good drip machine is the way to go when brewing larger batches for guests. Less faffing around, easier to pay attention to your guests. For this use case, i’d keep it boring, honestly, and buy a good drip brewer instead of chasing espresso or app features.
