My ISP (Aquiss) does not supply any router etc so your home network is only as good as what the customer purchases. My Asus XT9 mesh system is fantastic and I can use with any ISP and is superior to most ISP supplied equipment.

Its better to seperate 2.4ghz and 5ghz. I have Asus XT9 Zen Wifi. A bit old model than urs but separating wifi bandwidth it removed loads of issues. I connect my clients directly to Wifi 5ghz. And it works flawless. Also. Do try Vibeshine as a host. For me Vibeshine is perfect so far.

I haven't used this particular router, but using my experience/mistakes, purchase the best router hub you can afford that might also future proof you for X years. 2023, I purchased 3 x Asus XT9 tri-band mesh routers for £200 each. 3 years later it is still working fantastically in my 3 storey house,

Yeah, i have considered doing that especially as we both wfh, i have the same setup with the Asus XT9 dual wan which is cool and may take out VM again and dual wan in the future. My comment is based on the fact that I never use ISP supplied routers, preferring to use my own equipment which is better than what any ISP has been able to supply. "... Tbh it would be nice to have 500mbps all around the house....." this can be reliably achieved with RJ45 cabling around your home.
