Advice on buying a Hand Grinder
Unless you're madly fixated on manually grinding for all methods, I'd actually suggest you go for a hand grinder for pourovers along with an electric grinder for espresso. Trust me, I tried all manual ages ago. It wasn't fun for long. As for grinder recommendations... You could start with a Timemore

What’s the value addition of using an expensive grinder
OP good questions. The Agaro was the grinder I started with, and after a point I did ask myself the same questions as you. It was a long journey that led me to my KafaTek MC6/ Zerno (electric) and Pietro/ K Ultra (manual) combination but that’s a separate story. When you buy more expensive grinders

There is no end game, just diminishing returns lol Realistically, depends on what youre looking for and budget If its electric, either femobook A4z, Ode gen 2 (for 64mm platform) or timemore 078, but if you’ve got an inflated budget, a zerno z2 or even a weber eg-1. Suggestions on upgrading to Electric from 1Zpresso
Femobook has a few grinders a5, a4 and a4z. 1zpresso had a few grinders, few of which being k ultra and zp6. Femobook a4 ≈ 1zpresso k ultra Femobook a4z ≈ 1zpresso zp6 Also the battery is replaceable by standard cell models, so not a case of planned obsolescence.
