More about my x3 front light case!!

Whatever you do never release the files for free or for sale. You'll never see the end of people trying to profit off your hard work. The licensing on that retro model could bite you if you built it off that work. Inspired is a different story. You made something really cool and it solves the main c

Questions about Xteink?

Thanks for opening this thread. I realise that Xteink plans to bring the s4 to the market, but quite a number (myself included) just want the current device with a front light. My preference is for the x3 with a front light. Would the organisation consider this?

I think I made a mistake.

Same, my on the go is the XTEINK X3, it’s so adorably tiny, but it’ll fit in any pocket.

X4 is saying goodbye.

I generally agree with that sentiment but the pogo charger is absolutely not proprietary. People should not be made to think they have to buy a replacement from XTEINK specifically. Also personally I don’t know why you’d need to be carrying around a charger for either the X3 or the X4 considering ho

After less than 3 months, the device decided to self-destruct

sorry this happened. I had something similar happen to me for my last to xteink devices. The x4 came broken, and the x3 broke out of the blue. And you are right the quality of these devices are really bad, and a lot of people here will just mock you if you pointed that out.

xteink announces collaboration with third party firmware "Crosslink" on Rednote

As a Chinese-speaking user, I feel compelled to clarify one point: the only real connection between Crosslink and Crossink is that they both originated as branches of Crosspoint. Crosslink was developed based on crosspoint_chinesetype (https://github.com/icannotttt/crosspoint-chinesetype) and the co

Xteink X4 gen 2 and X4 Pro leak from Aliexpress.

Exactly this. I'm so smitten with my X3 for the exact reasons you mention here. It's a simple, cheap device that has a very focused mission and it performs that mission incredibly well. Surprisingly well, almost unbelievably well. I'm also wondering about the why of adding these features. I would as

Thinking of purchasing the Xteink x3

The Xteink X3 is a top-tier device. Its form factor is excellent, and it features a higher PPI screen. If you can wait, there may be an X3 Pro model released later this year with a touchscreen and a backlight. If you don't care about those features, the X3 is an excellent purchase.

Xteink or Kindle (in terms of durability)

Multi million dollar production setup vs a year old startup You more or less get what you pay for. Not saying X4/X3 are bad in comparison, but Kindles obviously have better materials. If this is your first, you need to be aware Xteink requires some tinkering, its open source, and might not provide a

couldn't decide on one so why not both?

You decorated your ereaders so cutesy! In my opinion, it is really nice to have different ones with different benefits, which is exactly what you’re doing here! The Xteink x3 is very cute as well. If it helps, I tried a similar one to the X4, but I realized that I am really a library lady at heart a
