Boat Networking Recommendation

I think what you want for this situation is a 'travel router'. That connects to one wifi and creates another separate wifi for your devices. Look at the TP-Link TL-WR1502X or TL-WR902AC but there are others.

TP-Link AX1500 Travel Router & Qualcomm SDX55 5G Dongle Reliability Test

The TP-Link AX1500 travel router only has a USB 2.0 port, hence the drop in speed I suppose. Would need a travel router with USB 3.0 port to get the max possible speeds.

Any suggestions for a travel router?

TP-Link TL-WR1502X is decent. Only issue is it comes with USB 2.0. So I recently went with Cudy TR3000 for about 6k, comes with a USB 3.0 port and can run OpenWRT too.

What's your travel-trick that improves your quality of life on the road/in hotels?

FYI this is what I recently purchased. I had a simpler one before but it only did 2.4GHz and was super fiddly to change modes. This one works magnficently: https://www.tp-link.com/us/home-networking/wifi-router/tl-wr1502x/

Point of TL-WR1502X router?

3G/4G USB Modem Mode allows you to install a separate 3G/4G USB cellular dongle of your choice to supply Internet to the Travel Router (and the devices connected to it). It's one of the many operating modes in the TL-WR1502X's feature set, along with the other modes listed in the screenshot. That sa
