What’s something you had to learn the hard way about Houston?
The Thinkware U1000 dash cams I installed in every one of our vehicles have been unbeatable in the five years we have had them. No issues roasting in the Houston heat either. Only one SD card failed in all this time.

Front & rear camera recs and installation
Thinkware U1000 plus you can get it here, installed & threw in 2 of the polarised lenses. Amir is such a nice guy as well as the other 2 gentlemen in the place. He will also show you how to use the app. I usually just remove the camera and copy the loops as I need them. I had to leave my car there f

E bike kid on Heil almost got pancaked
mostly if they're maybe 1 car length ahead. but night time is pretty bad for any dash cam because of the small sensors. this is the thinkware u1000. it use to be the flag ship model of thinkware but it's one model behind now. viofi have pretty good resolution as well for significantly less

How likely will the thief try to break-in in our car in multnomah falls parking lot? No visible things inside the car, but will have a soft shell rooftop carrier bag. Any tips?
i’d say one more benefit to having a quality front and rear dash cam setup that works in parking mode, and has a status LED on each. Big fan of the Thinkware brand, model U1000 and U3000. we install these at my work all the time, they seem to serve people well, and I like having them on my vehicles

70mai A810 2ch vs Viofo A229 plus 2ch
my thinkware U1000 just died after ~5 years. I think you're on to something there. I'm going to buy the 70mai vs. the viofo because it's $100 cheaper, I don't care much about super duper rear video, and apparently anything is going to die sooner or later. I'm getting tired of replacing $400-500 dash

Dashcam Recommendations Front & Rear
I got it from ICE Systems in Ranelagh, they installed it and showed me how to use the app because you have to disable carplay to use the wifi. I think this is universal for most of the dash cams that are not plug and play. Most of the time I just swap the micro SD cards though as I have loads. It’s

Dashcam Recommendations Front & Rear
No issues with using the app, you have to disable carplay to use it though. I usually just swap the micro SD cards because it is less effort for me. I got it from ICE Systems with the installation, very clean and professional, it has paid for itself over and over since having it. My car makes gettin

i commute on 280….dashcam reccomendations?
I’ve consolidated on front- and rear-facing Kenwood dash cams. They’ve done us well over the years. We’ve used SoundsGreat in Hoover to install ours. I had a ThinkWare U1000 or something like that a while back. Giant pile of garbage, don’t recommend them. The only thing I do like is their battery pa

Dash Cam
I’m using the Thinkware U1000. Front is 4k/30fps or 2k/60fps and the rear is 2k/60fps. At the time when I bought it, it was the newest one they had in their lineup and I got it on a good package deal. You can browse their website for any other one’s that’ll fit whatever budget you’re thinking of. Ne

Starting to take dash cams seriously after a close call. Got a few questions from a new perspective.
No dash cam will give you extreme confidence it's just very difficult to pick up license plates in all scenarios due to the wide-angle nature of the lenses. I own both of u1000 and u3000 from thinkware. Despite the u3000 being the top of the line out of the box the road alerts are not working and I'
