What security cameras are the best right now? I’m currently using Ring and debating whether I should stick with it or switch to something else.
Tapo! Got rid of all my ring devices. Sick of paying $150/year to use my cameras. Tapo c500 wired cameras and a Tapo wired doorbell 256gb card in each device ($18 on amazon) for 24/7 recording and self formatting

Wyze sucks more every day. Need an alternative
I have replaced with different tapo cam models and is the best thing i've ever done. They have great home assistant integrations, also RTSP for future installing frigate.

Do better than this Tapo
You should Turn on 3rd party integrations and pipe the rtsp feed to a local VMS. I run Object detections models like mobilenetssd and YOLOv8 on my Tapo cams with good results. I don’t think there’s a classification for fox but I have seen my cams tell between a Dog and Cat

how many tapo devices a single router/ap can handle
A single Unifi AP can easily handle 200 devices, I suspect Microtik AP is roughly in the same ballpark. Those are all designed for commercial applications and for your household setup, I think you are over thinking things. I have about 100 devices including maybe 10 Tapo cameras on 2.4G IoT vlan on

Anyone found a good baby monitor without subscription BS?

Not receiving notifications from my cameras
Odd man. My only guess is that the firmware is responsible. Check all their versions and see if you can isolate which is which. I keep my firmware updates on manual on my Tapo cams because I’m tired of automatic faulty firmware updates.
