If you can invest some time to into training your dog, spoton fence would be a solid option, my experience with it on our Anatolian has been great. We were initially planning to bury wires to save some money, but that wasn’t realistic due to the heavily wooded and uneven ground. Spending a little e

With my Anatolians I think it would do more damage than good. They are smart dogs and understand discipline really well. My dogs use a spot on gps fence collar that works really well on them. One time we had one misread inside the house and shocked them and it made them fear the collar being put on

I was not sure which one to pick between Halo and Spot On for my Siberian Husky, Kona, she just hates to take a break and spends most of her day running around in the land and taking care of my daughter wherever she goes. This wasn’t an issue until she failed to get back a couple of times. Shes full

if youve got a large property and keeping your dogs contained is a challenge, SpotOn is definitely worth considering. I use it for my aussies and once we went through the training properly, they learned the boundaries so well they dont even need the collar anymore. I did quite a bit of research befo

Does your collar not beep when they get close to the boundary? I’ve forgotten and can hear it. I personally use a radius or gps fence. Underground fences shock when they come back too. GPS/radius fences do not. This one works good, I’ve used it for years with 4 different dogs but you can only set it

I settled on SpotOn. It’s a local NH company making the best GPS receiver out there. It works without cellular, which is important as we have no cell service on our property. Without cell service you don’t get realtime tracking, but you also don’t have any subscription fees. Set up a fence and when

I have a dog who runs all over the county, or at least she used to. I got a GPS boundary collar for her, set the boundaries on the app, and away we went. There are a lot of things they suggest you do to get the dog comfortable with being contained using a GPS collar system, but it doesn't require a

We got the Spot On GPS fence for our dog, she is a GSD. It has no wire in the ground, they wear a gps collar and you walk the perimeter once to set up the boundary, then train the dog. It has a variety of settings (our dog is okay on just vibrate but it does have shock for more adventerous dogs). Sh

These 3 are very different products. It really depends on what you are specifically looking for the product to achieve for you. If you want to check in on your dog remotely like if you are at work etc. then you will have to pay for a LTE based unit (Halo/Spot-on). This means you will be paying a mon

I actually think, after reading this thread, that most of the people on Reddit must live in cities, or crowded suburbs. This tech would be awesome for going to my local state park which is huge like hundreds of acres, or hiking the trails, or for dogs on the farm etc. A great way to have an electron
