Is FX3 the only good way to get 2h non-stop recording from a Sony Full Frame camera? (not counting more expensive gear)

Semi-amateur here, so I won't claim to speak out of a lot of experience... but I think a budget option for situations like this, if you are editing on a mac in particular: Blackmagic pocket 4k, recording in ProRes Raw with the recent update Zitay Cfast to SSD adapter: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/

Made a Custom Arc Card

With a bunch of technology, the actual important part is much smaller, and the housing may be unchanged and largely empty to satisfy legacy backwards functionality with where it fits. Look at this SSD which is now basically 70% just empty plastic since the circuitry and board have been miniaturized

SSDs Specs for ProRes Raw on Ninja

My setup is Lumix S5II+Ninja, tested with Samsung 850 PRO 512GB(on atomos list), Samsung 860 PRO 256GB, Samsung 870 EVO 1TB and 2TB and six different HDMI cables, max recording 5.9K 29.97p. Conclusion was that everything is fine when recording “prores raw” but when it comes to prores raw HQ 5.9K 29.

PC refusing to boot with IDE to SATA adapter

Do you have a USB adapter? You can hot-plug those once booted into the Linux live system. You can also typically hot-plug SATA, though it does cause issues on some Marvell controllers if you do that too often or too frequently, requiring a reboot to work again. You also don’t need to use the same sy

What is the safest and most importantly VERY long term storage option?

Depends on the drive. HDD wise it can be as low as 0 failed drives of a specific model per quarter with multi year fail percentages between 0.2-0.5%, with around 3% after 10 years, to Seagate's 3TB debacle that had a fail percentage of 32% after only 3 years, that may have gotten as bad as 50-80% af

Cheap ssd for unvr

The only consumer SSDs I'd put in service for this would be something with MLC like an 850/860 Pro from Samsung or Crucial's MX100 line. YMMV.

Crucial/Micron Warranty department, dishonesty with false promises

I had a Samsung 860 Pro 512GB drive fail not long after its installation and Samsung offered me an Evo model of the same capacity or a cash refund, I took the cash refund and bought a 1TB 860 Evo with it (the 860 Pro was no longer sold anywhere). This was between the crypto and AI crazes.

Layman in Data storage, just need an ssd but heard about dram and dram less

rather than dram or dramless, it's all about the controller. however, I don't think SATA SSDs without dram are ever any good. Your drive will slow down and eventually be very unpleasant and slow. As for what 2.5" sata SSDs are good to get, that is a rabbit hole of nightmares these days. Avoid TeamGr
