TL:DR unlikely to get anything back sorry. NTL:WR Unfortunately the 860 EVO from Samsung is when they started signing the firmware so you can’t use a custom loader to load previous versions of the translator (the log that maps data contents to the physical locations In The memory). Without that you

That I/O error pointing at your Samsung 860 EVO is practically a death rattle, run a SMART check from a live USB but I'd bet the drive is toast.

Edit: I meant mx500. Not cx. I would buy one with dram. Samsung evo 860 or 870. Or a Crucial cx500. Longer lifespan and better write speed. If you plan on writing a large amount of files at the same time. Updating Gran turismo or similar. Then an ssd without dram would be slower than a 5400rpm hdd.

I wonder why the load times on SSD are still impacted when random access is fast random reads on regular nand haven't improved much in the past nearly 10 years now. An Intel Optane PCIe 3.0 x2 SSD still has nearly triple the RND4K QT1T performance of a PCIe 4.0 x4 Samsung 990 Pro despite the 990 Pro

This is at least one area where Samsung, if not outright better, isn't worse than other manufacturers. Like when they changed the NAND configuration on the 970 EVO, they didn't just keep calling it the 970 EVO - they changed the model to the 970 EVO Plus. Same with the 990 EVO and 990 EVO Plus. And

Hi. I recently purchased a Crucial X9 2TB which is advertised advertised as having USB 3.2 Gen 2 with 1050MB/s max read and write speeds.
I was getting around 500MB/s transferring files from the SSD inside my PS5 Slim, to the Crucial X9. That was the same with the included USB-C cable, and a USB 3.

Just found this post, same here, I bought 2 ssd WD 4tb blue, and Samsung 860 Evo, I noticed my old files in WD read speed down to 20MB/S, but the Samsung still has the same speed 500MB/s (worest case for some files went down to 200MB/s), this is after > 5 years.I guess a lesson learned, don't buy an

Had this happen with a Dream Wall's SD card after the Dream Wall experienced a bad memory contention issue in version 5.0.x builds of the firmware. Formatting it fixed things right up since the drive itself was working fine. As for the hard drives that come with the CloudKeys, so far I am 3/4 on fai

I got a second hand Samsung 860 evo 500gb for 50 euros and it's incredible how much faster loading, saving, cutscene transitions are in games. Worth it if you are gonna play PS3 a lot. Realistically you don't need more storage, cuz you play one game at a time and once you finish them then you can dele
