I have had the OXO Conical Burr Coffee Grinder for about 8 years. It is holding up well, doesn't make a mess - does the job.

Yes, I'd replace that grinder for a DF54 or even the Encore ESP. I have a similar OXO conical burr grinder but primarily use it for drip, cold brew, etc. It won't work with unpressurized baskets.

Surprisingly the OXO conical grinder isnt too bad, i would say its almost on par with the baratza encore. Hand grinders would be the way to go and most people say kin grinder k6.

Check out ebay, Facebook marketplace, or maybe even Craigslist for used Baratza Encore grinders. They're ~$150 new but can be had used for half that and will last a very long time. Speaking from experience, it's a great grinder and parts are both very easy to order through their website and affordab

The variable you failed to change is the coffee grind fineness. You're using Bustello, which means you can't control this variable without buying a different brand of coffee. I've never had bustello but I believe it's quite a fine grind, which probably in a big MokaPot with a deep coffee bed will cr

I went with the OXO compact conical burr grinder. Didn’t want a huge one taking up a ton of space. There’s better grinders out there, but for the price, the performance is good enough for the Moccamaster. It’s not as loud as I’d thought it would be too. For the Moccamaster, you want the grounds to b

Get your own burr grinder; cheapest one that's still extremely good is the OXO Brew Conical Burr Coffee Grinder for about $150 new. And once you start grinding your own coffee, you'll never go back because you'll be able to dial in the precise setting that you like.

I have the same machine, it was a lovely gift from a friend to get me started when he upgraded. I’ve been playing around with it and slowly buying the cheapest version of each workflow-improvement tool just to learn. The exception was the grinder: I wanted to test whether “grinder matters more than
