Absolutely get to a shop where she can try them on, preferably with sample weights. The Batac 24 has no structure and it’s quite tall. The Sportlite 25 comes in several torso sizes and is a far more sophisticated pack. They have a new Jet 28 that is very interesting: https://www.osprey.com/jet-28 Th

The Sportlite 25 does allow you to adjust the torso length using a pair of straps on the back. It’s a bit more of a pain compared to some of the nicer Osprey packs but def better than nothing.

I’m a 5’7” woman with a short torso, so definitely a different body type than you, but I’ve tried both backpacks recently so I’m going to offer what I hope are some helpful thoughts. The Trail 25 is more suited for everyday use because its hip belt is both barebones and detachable, whereas the Sport

The real deal-breaker between these two isn't actually the weight—it is the torso length and "barreling." The Osprey Sportlite 25 is a fixed-length pack, so if your torso doesn't perfectly match their template, the weight will sit entirely on your shoulders by mile six. The Deuter Speed Lite Pro 25

Osprey Sportlite 25 or something similar Great functional and comfortable bag, lifetime warranty, plenty of room for a 2.5 liter reservoir/multiple layers/gloves/beanie/snacks/core hiking essentials. Get fitted for a bag, don't just wing it. Also, as someone else has pointed out, the bags you posted

It’s fine for day hikes. I used it in Acadia. The laptop compartment can be used for a water bladder and then just mostly zipped up and run down the shoulder on the zipper side with the hose keeper strap. It’s not as comfortable as my Osprey Sportlite 25L, but it’s a perfectly fine bag to carry the

The Osprey is the better bag, designed to last forever with a great warranty. I love my Sportlite and it is by far the most comfortable bag I own. The weight transferring hip belt really works.

I've been liking my Osprey Sportlite 25 so far. The water bottle holders fit my 40ish ounce water bottle without it falling out, and the compression straps help a lot too. Seems to have most of what you're looking for as well

I have been happy so far with the Osprey Sportlite 25, women’s size s/m. I am a little less than 5’6”. It doesn’t tick all of your boxes though since it has a zipper closure and is about 22” tall per my measurements (the other dimensions are totally smaller than your requirements). I like that it ha

The reason I bought the Skarab was because it comes with a hydration bladder. You save some money there. Osprey markets it as a “hydration pack”, which is what my search keywords at the time were. That and it as hiking pole loops were the selling points for me. I still use it on long hikes, but it r
