https://store.minisforum.com/products/minisforum-g1-pro-gaming-pc 1,439.00 vs 1,349 for a 2tb steam machine version. Miles better in performance. True HTPC if you care about it that much.

MInisforum G1 Pro, a little more than the 2TB steam machine, currently see it on Amazon for $1439 USD. Has a vastly superior CPU, a proper desktop RTX5060, and 32GB of RAM. It'll run circles around the steam machine all day.

Compare it to the minisforum g1 pro or the Framework desktop with the 385 in it. Both are comparable in price to the 2tb model (and would actually be cheaper if they were able to be specced with 16gb ddr5 instead of 32), same or very slightly larger volume, and absolutely smoke it. There's no excuse

No. The problem is Halo Strix Chip is too expensive for gaming. It's gaming performance is weak for the price in all configurations. It really only makes "sense" for some AI use cases with big RAM configs. For gaming, get something with a discrete GPU chip/card. Want a small weak PC, for gaming, you

With RAMpocalypse/RAMageddon 4K video editing with DaVinci Resolve on Windows 11 and a $700 budget isn't realistic. For 4K editing NVIDIA RTX 3060 or AMD RX 6700 is highly recommended as a starting point. Basically you're looking for 8GB of VRAM on a graphics card with a PassMark score of 16K+. A sy

The minisforum g1 pro is also 3.8L and packs a desktop 5060, an 8945hx (16/32 zen4 cores) and 32GB RAM and is selling for ~$1450. Sure, its ~$100 more than the 2tb model, but just the extra RAM alone is worth ~$200, so there's really no excuse for valve IMO

I do want to mention that the Minisforum G1 Pro you linked there isn't a laptop motherboard repackaged. It is a mini PC grade computer with a desktop graphics card (RTX 5060 LP). I owned the previous model (Atomman G7-PT) and that ran solid for the two years I had it before selling it to upgrade to

The helix will most likely be $2000. It’s not gonna be a console/pc hybrid. It’s gonna be a pc with the Xbox full screen experience version of windows automatically installed. And it’ll run the PC version of all the current gen Xbox games and emulate the past gen games. There’s already console sized

So the alternatives in a similar form factor: Lenovo ThinkCentre Neo Ultra Gen 2 - costs about as much if you customize with the same specs ZOTAC Magnus EN275060TC - 1399 barebones, you'll need to get your own RAM MINISFORUM G1 Pro - 1499 I do have some doubts as to whether the G1 Pro is actually av
