I recommend Thinkpad X1 Yoga Gen 6. It is convertible 2-in-1, Intel 11th Gen, grey aluminium top & bottom, lightweight, sturdy, and comes with slot-in stylus. These days they are cheap enough and should be the same price with Neo. I have it, it's a great device that still runs well for anything.

I had a Dell E 1505 that lasted high school, college, grad school, even training, and pretty much was still sort of going after that More than 10 or 12 years. Eventually, I think the ribbon cable started to degrade, so I made it a r/halftop but even then it was so old the GPU started falling, so I h

You don't need to buy them new, I just bought an X1 Yoga Gen 6 i7/32/512 for half the price of a new MB Air 13. Raw performance is nowhere near of course, but I really don't need it, it can do everything I want and even more. It runs Linux buttery smooth, and I love the touch screen and pen input -

I heard that in a recent video from Framework as well. I don't know why they need such a tight gap. Lenovo managed, so did Dell, HP and even Sony when they were still using TrackPoint's. It certainly hasn't been an issue in a combined 5 years of recent Thinkpad usage (P53 for work, P14s Gen3 and the

I was going to say the same. I have two Thinkpads. A X1 Yoga Gen 6 and a X1 Yoga Gen 8. They have great linux compatibility. You can get them at reasonable prices from eBay.

Had a couple of Thinkpad X1 yogas and 2 in 1s, their hinges definitely are great and never had any problems. Can't say the same for the Lenovo Yoga lineup, those aren't engineered to last more than a year. So don't worry, X1s are designed to take a beating.

That doesn't exist new. Thinkpad OLEDs in 14" are all 2.8k (2880*1800) and have been for a few years now. Highest-res 14"(well, 14.5" actually) is P14s Gen5 Intel which has a 3k(3072x1920) IPS display. Can only recommend sticking with one of those (have a bunch of T14s so configured). Lenovo ditched

I got this for $400 and it came with: 11th gen i7 16GB RAM 512GB 4K screen I don't really need it but getting this especially with the 4K display makes it really hard to give up. I already have a primary gaming desktop and Macbook Air M1 I barely use. I've bought a few budget Windows laptop for simi

FYI that is X1 Yoga Gen 6 not Carbon. X1Y6 shares board with X1C9 which is notorious for those two specific chips(Q261/263) burning themselves.
