Built my first PC back in 2021 and decided it was time to upgrade. I’ve recently started my own side business and needed to upgrade my i5-10400f to a newer gen for editing, rendering, 3d, etc. Decided to keep my 3070 Ti for now and put the budget towards other components.
Went with the following u

Well, I guess this is a reminder that my PC is getting old, too. The Intel i5-10400F 2.9 GHz seems to have a 256 KB L2 cache per core, of which there are six, and a L3 cache of a mere 12 MB. The sprite cache change suggested yesterday did alleviate the issue considerably, though.

That doesn't sound too bad though. Sure it's definitely not ideal with only having 6 cores but those kind of extreme performance issues shouldn't be happening. I'd recommend doing a Cinebench 2026 performance test for multi-core and compare it to others like here: https://www.cpu-monkey.com/en/cpu-i

A little update on this new to me PC I ended up snatching for 500 euro. The MB is a Gigabyte B460M DS3H V2, which officially supports the 10th as well as the 11th gen Intel CPU’s, which leaves me with nice upgrade potential for the future. The 3060 turned out to be the 12 GB, 192 bit version, which

That's something I would love and thanks for all the info but the point is those cpus and gpus are all out of my budget, normally I was gonna go with 5 5600 but the price difference between 5 5600 and 7 5700x is so little so might as well go with the extra cores incase I decide to do streams and ren
