Genelec 8020 and 8030. 7050 sub 10/10 sound 1/10 price

I recommend the Genelec 8030c (or G3). It has a pretty thick aluminum enclosure and there are steel mesh grills over both the tweeter and the woofer.

Genelec 8030C is probably the best deal for high-end. Really just depends on your budget. Edit: or KH 120 II

Same for the Genelec 8030/8330. In pair with the KH120 they are the best sounding monitor I ever experienced out of the box (have the 8030 myself). When tuned to the room they are simply amazing (same thing with the KH120).

All that money wasted.... Just buy decent audio interface, few XLR cables and pair of Genelec 8020's or 8030's. If you find them used, even better. You're done. There's no need for all that EQ stuff etc. Decent professional gear and you're golden.

I have both passives (Revel F206) and actives (Genelec 8030c) and both are good. Don't know how to vote on this. Good speakers are good speakers. You can find an active speaker that sounds better than a certain passive speaker and you could find the inverse as well.

Genelecs are awesome. A pair of 8030 with 7050 sub will run you about $3000

Thank you. I have Genelec G Threes as rear speakers. Bought 8030C as a replacements', but I'm still using them on my other setup. I play moderate volume, so I don't think it makes any difference if I swap them.
