My Casabrew Ultra can have a wet puck too. As long as it's not a big puddle of water, I wouldn't worry about it. Best option for VERY basic users / parents of two [$1000 budget]
Df83 grinder,casabrew ultra and a 58mm tamp kit from Amazon will give you some solid espresso and also buy a $15 pour over funnel for evening ihop coffee should be under 800

Who said Casabrews are not recommended? Do the research on YouTube and make your own decision. I own the Casabrews Ultra and my family does lattes daily. I don’t need another espresso machine unless it’s for my own personal preference. Before I bought this one I looked at other entry level machines

Espresso machine recommendation [$800]
Grinder is doing most of the heavy lifting for espresso, the machine way less so. With your budget you can push the grinder higher and not worry too much on the machine side.
